post you suggestions here. I will also collect all suggestions which were made on the yahoo league message board. We will not make any polls right now, there´s enough time at the end of the season,

an extra roster spot for injured players only who are not on IR only.
This spot is open as long as you don´t have an injured player who´s not listed as injured on yahoo. Two examples, Gonchar and Kovalchuk are out for weeks but not on IR. You could then use the extra spot and add a replacement. Once the player returns, you have to leave that extra spot open again.

how about a bigger rookie team. you can leave them on here with are teams. maybe 3 or 5 rookies a year can get draft. or maybe no rookies spots unless you want to have them

i would like to see the 2 adds gone and an unwritten rule not to try and load up your roster by signing and releasing players daily to boost your lineup.

Dennis, you run a great leagues.
Here's my recommendations:
1) Change Shut Outs to Saves - This will increase the value of starting goalies 2) Change Short Handed Points to Points - Short handed points are much too rare 3) I vote against a Util slot. I think defensemen have more value without one. Having a roster this size and no util slot virtually requires you to roster extra defensemen which isn't the case when you have more playable slots. 4) I'm not sure I like the 2 moves per week thing... there seems to be alot more strategy with a season move limit instead of a weekly one. Also, we're emulating real GMs here and that works better with a season limit instead of a 2 move weekly limit. 5) Add the veto voting for trades back. 6 required votes. Email the commish is fine but I'd rather it be anonymous and automatic so that other GMs don't get pissed off at you for vetoing their trade and there's no concern that the commish didn't miscount veto emails or something. 6) I don't like the idea of not having a live draft. It's very difficult to get what you want with auto draft. I know Yahoo is working on a keeper format and the ability to trade draft picks in the future so I think it would be much cleaner and less confusing if we simply didn't trade draft picks for now. I'm sure we'll have that capability in a year or two. I honestly don't see what's so incredible about this ability to forgo a live draft for it.
Rules that are awesome: - Keep the rookies at 2. I like the under 60 game rule. - I like the IR rule as it stands. - I like the number of keepers. 10 skaters, 2 rookies, 2 goalies... this gives 1st overall pick real meaning in each draft.
As I said Dennis, you're running a kick ass league, keep up the good work.

i never talked about an auto draft. We will draft on this message board. You aren´t forced to pick within 2 minutes, you have time to research and pick the right player. Of course we will have to start early as this will take us 2 weeks, but this is the best way.

Oh, I like that idea. Good thinking Dennis. Now it all makes sense. Ok.
Let me edit my suggestions, I took out the "against util slots" since I'm seeing it make more sense now and I'm taking out the drafting thingee: 1) Change Shut Outs to Saves 2) Change Short Handed Points to Points 3) Yearly move limit. 4) Add the veto voting for trades back. 6 required votes.

I would also like to recommend that we change the "rookie" rule so that instead of arbitrary 60 career games, we use the NHL's "rookie" criteria instead. If the NHL considers him a rookie, then we should too. If not, then we shouldn't.

how about we host our rookies here next year, not on yahoo. therefor we can draft and hold onto a few more than 2..

I think what could be better than that (since it's so hard to track rookies... for example, i picked up Brandon Sutter on the night he played his 60th game. Is he a rookie? Is he not a rookie?) would be if we increased the number of keepers.
As it stands right now, if you take out the 2 rookie slots and the 2 goalie slots, we only keep about half our team. 21 player slots - 2 rookie slots = 19 player slots that we choose 10 keepers from (14 keepers - 2 rookies - 2 goalies). That's alot of players to lose from a roster that you've spent all season developing. As it stands now, other than the mandatory 2 rookie keepers, I don't even want to take a chance on keeping alot of my other young guys, like, Perron and stuff since I need to keep more reliable options like Gionta.
Maybe increase it to 16 keepers next year?

question: beside 2 goalies in the normal 12 keepers, can we keep a goalie who is still a rookie?
